Michael’s practice is primarily devoted to intellectual property and general civil litigation matters. As a litigator, Michael regularly drafts pleadings, engages in discovery and motion practice, prepares cases for trial, and assists other attorneys to provide individual and corporate clients effective representation both in and out of court. Michael also frequently performs transactional work and non-litigation focused services for clients as needed.
Before joining Brutzkus Gubner, Michael was a full-time judicial extern for the Honorable Judge André Birotte Jr. of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. While there, he analyzed opposing parties’ motions and drafted court orders, observed many trials and hearings, and regularly conferred with Judge Birotte and his law clerks on a variety of matters.
Michael joined Brutzkus Gubner as a summer law clerk during his second year of law school and returned as an associate after graduation. During law school, Michael concentrated in litigation-focused coursework, including Advanced Litigation Writing, Advanced Legal Research, Trial Preparation and Settlement, and was on the only two-person team to prevail at trial in his Trial Advocacy class. Michael also received a CALI Award for earning the highest grade in Intellectual Property, was a member of the Law Review, and was invited into the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society.
